This self-released 3inch cdr was sold by Annelies Monseré during her European tour, late 2006, with Jessica Bailiff, with a delicate, simple and beautiful handwritten artwork.

It features four songs for a length of eight minutes. All of them have been recorded during radio sessions in Belgium ("Psyche van het Folk" radio session) and Netherlands (Radio 5). “You were on my side” comes from her debut album on BlueSanct and “Shine” from her limited seven inch. The two other songs are new and will probably appear on her next album still to be finished.

This ep can be considered mostly as an object for fans - there is no reference to it in her official discography - but above this standpoint, the purity of her songwriting and performance are particularly breathtaking here, showing the directions already discovered through her recent live performances.

As always in her discography, we will find sparse arrangements, guitar and piano, melodica and glockenspiel, and of course her beautiful fragile and ethereal voice, with vocals close to silence, gently whispered between lullaby, prayers and love confidences.

“I will lock you” is like an early Rachel’s reverie, “Shine” explores delicate and sensitive medieval ambiences, just before this moment when the sun starts to disperse the mist.

The last two songs seem slower and more intimate, in the space of a room lit by the pale light of an autumnal afternoon, with dust floating in sun rays like strings of a harp. It makes me thing very much of the most pensive and reflexive side of Spokane.

A beautiful ep and a good promise for her very expected second album.
