INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN at THE GONG SHOW
"One more such victory over the Romans, and we're done for," said Pyrrhus, as he gazed over the battleground. He didn't know the half of it. It was the 24th of December of 2004 and I came by the old rehearsal space to pick up some stuff. For some time now I had been suffering from these headaches, but little did I realize as I entered and saw the Fostex 8-trackrecorder, that today my head would finally split open completely and that eight and a half hours later I would walk out having single-handedly laid down all tracks for no less than 60 songs. I stood there with the sun going down over my brow. I couldn't feel my legs. My head was busted, my voice was cracked. My arms were broken, my feet splintered. I was bald...
Anyway, here are a couple of those tracks. Some of these songs are for children, some are for babies, and then there are others that just are. Now, you might listen to them and think they're nothing more than an elephant smoking a cigar. It's a trick alright, but it shouldn't be encouraged. Then again, I take some comfort in these words my mother used to say to me. She said: "You might not like this now, but you will. You may think that you will not, but believe me, you will. And on that day you will curse all the time you wasted running away from these things." I am 26 years old and I like oranges.
Incredible Shrinking Man is grateful to Felltones and Feuerbach for letting him play in their wonderful bands. If you would like to contact Incredible Shrinking Man, you can send a message to his spokesperson at pietermoelans@hotmail.com
